3 WR/CB Matchups to Watch in Week 4 (2025)

Winning in fantasy often comes down to exploiting matchups. Some wide receivers get dream spots against weak cornerbacks, while others face lockdown coverage that can tank their value. Below are three WR/CB matchups I’m targeting this week. Use these when setting lineups, planning waivers, or finding trade edges.

Amon-Ra St. Brown vs. Bengals Secondary

The Bengals’ defense has been a steady target for opposing offenses this year, ranking 12th in passing yards allowed per attempt and third in passing yards per game. Despite giving up consistent production, they’ve yet to allow a single wide receiver to eclipse 100 yards. That could change this week with Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Cincinnati will rely on DJ Turner and Cam Taylor-Britt in coverage, but both have struggled in 2025, each posting sub-60 coverage grades (via PFF). Facing one of the league’s most explosive offenses, this feels like the week St. Brown finally breaks through with a monster outing.

Michael Pittman Jr. vs. Raiders’ Zone Defense

The Raiders live and die by zone coverage, deploying it on over 90% of their defensive snaps (per Fantasy Points Data). That’s music to Michael Pittman Jr.’s ears. He’s shredded zone looks all season, tallying 12 receptions, 170 yards, and three touchdowns against it already.

Pittman dominates Colts targets, commanding an 84.1% snap share, 83.6% route participation, and a 24.5% target rate. Meanwhile, Las Vegas ranks bottom-10 in both expected points added (EPA) per dropback and receiving yards allowed. Simply put, Pittman is set up for another big week as the clear focal point of Indy’s passing attack.

Rams WRs vs. 49ers’ Defense

Both Puka Nacua and Davante Adams are in play this week thanks to favorable one-on-one matchups. Nacua continues to command high usage (78.7% route rate, with nearly 40% of targets coming from the right side), putting him head-to-head with Deommodore Lenoir. Lenoir has been shaky in coverage, earning just a 61.1 PFF grade — 43rd among 103 qualified corners.

Adams draws an equally appealing setup. With an elite 88.6% route participation and a 28.9% targets-per-route rate, he’ll primarily face Renardo Green, who has allowed over 20% of his coverage targets to be completed and gives up 0.36 fantasy points per route defended. That combination gives Adams one of the steadiest floors and highest ceilings of any WR this week.

The 49ers may rank fifth in fewest receiving yards allowed overall, but when they’ve faced elite receivers, they’ve been vulnerable. Both Nacua and Adams have the opportunity to smash in Week 5.
